Jesus is the Way

In John 14 the disciples are reminded that despite how grim the future might look that we can look to God and trust that our unknown future is held together by Him. Isaiah states that His ways are higher than our ways and that His word will go forth and do what it is meant to do. Thomas asks a question that I myself have asked many times in the middle of trial, difficulty or confusion:  "Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?"
Instead of a pat answer or a list of directions Jesus offers three things in the following verse: "I am the way, the truth and the life". He offers Himself. He is the I AM spoken of from eternity. "The way is our new manner of thought process and journey through life that coincides with the Eternal." We have a new relationship with God through Christ and although life can be challenging at times this new life is a blessed life full of purpose:  To glorify Him and to enjoy Him forever!
He offers His Word:  He is the truth personified. He is that which most pertains to reality. We know Jesus to be Him who was prophesied long ago. He has indeed fulfilled the prophecies about Himself, so much so that the odds against one person fulfilling just eight prophecies are an astronomical-one in ten to the 21st power (1021), but Jesus fulfilled 61 specific prophecies about himself. He is truly who scripture says He is.
Finally he offers the promise of Life. He offers to not only give us life abundantly. But He himself is our life. The scriptures declare that upon us committing our lives to Jesus that our "lives are now hidden in Christ" truly the hope of glory! His kingdom, his work, is what now consumes our lives. Sharing His love, hope and peace  because we've experienced it ourselves is what motivates us to continue sharing the Good News!  Jesus is the central cause and focus of every living thing
! May you seek His face, encounter His grace and follow Him intimately so much that you become a reflection of His love and grace to all men. God bless!
