Who’s the Fool Now?
1 Corinthians 1:26-31 (ESV)
26 For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. 27 But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; 28 God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, 29 so that no human being might boast in the presence of God. 30 And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, 31 so that, as it is written, “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.”
- God uses the unwise, weak, and the outcast because we cannot say it was our doing we must give God the glory because we’re not smart enough to do it without Him! To which I am am thankful seeing that He would use me. I can also give glory since out of His great love He would chose to use one such as myself. How about you what do you think and how does that affect your service to Him known that He has chosen you do His work?
- Notice the order of Paul’s words righteousness, sanctification, redemption. It is backwards for us right first we are redeemed, and then sanctified, finally we are made righteous. Not so with LORD we sees us this very way from the beginning of our walk the very moment we believe we are made the righteousness of God through Christ Jesus! You would have to be a fool to see God’s love and sacrifice He has made through Jesus Christ and not respond to His gift of eternal life.
