All Things New

All Things New

Today we have a new year ahead of us. Many of us will start the new year with resolutions; for better health, better stewards with our finances, and more time with family. All of which are good tools to put into our daily routine. Honestly speaking they will probably fall by the wayside within a few weeks.

As Christians we look to the Word of God and see what God has to say about new things, in John’s Revelation of Christ we find a good foundation on where our focus should be centered.

In the Book of Revelation we read of a new name (Rev 2.17; 3.12), a new song (Rev 5.9) new heaven and a new earth (Rev 21.1-8) John also tells us of a new Jerusalem (Rev 21.9-21) and a new light in (Rev 21.22-23). The glory of God will be our light and the Lamb of God will be the lamp.

All of these are “new as to form or quality, of different nature from what is contrasted as old”. Thus when Jesus say He’s making all things new He is replacing the old with His new.

As we start this new year I pray that we make some time for a new relationship with the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit putting Him first in all things trusting Him to lead us into the new year.

1Ti 4:13 Until [we] get there, [let us] focus on reading the Scriptures to the church, encouraging the believers, and teaching them.

Amen

All for Him
